Master the Force

Star summer camp robotics league

Master the Force and help build a new civilization at First Lego League Jumpstart Camp.

Calling all Jedi’s. Are you willing to take on the challenge to champion hope?

First Lego League Jumpstart Camp is a competitive robotics program that challenges students to work in teams to complete different tasks related to a theme each season. We are pleased to participate in the theme for the upcoming 2019 - 2020 season: Star Wars: Force For Change!

Force For Change is challenging the citizens of the galaxy to build and strengthen a stronger society that celebrates diversity, harmony, and hope through sustainability and innovation. In First Lego League Jumpstart Camp, students can focus on initiatives such as clean energy, safety through automation, or even self-sustaining urban agriculture in order to better the world around them.

Our goal is to introduce campers to a higher level of robotics along while teaching them critical thinking, team building, and time management skills as they design and plan their projects. Children also learn key concepts like graciousness, professionalism, and cooperation in competition, skills every Jedi Master needs to become a positive force in the galaxy.

If the Force is strong with your young padawan, sign them up for our FIRST LEGO League Jumpstart camp at Warner Elementary this summer or check out our amazing camps like Brick Lab Jedi Mind Bricks!

5 super duper exciting video games your child will enjoy this summer in Game On summer camp!

Game on 2 (2).png

Game On! is a summer camp that's all about games! Video games, board games and role playing games are all on the list of games to play this summer. Games and in particular video games, have been shown to have a positive effect on the brain and various aspects of our lives. For instance, according to the Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology,  "spatial visualization ability, such as mentally rotating and manipulating two- and three-dimensional objects, improves with video game playing."

This summer in Game On!: Role Playing Adventures, students will play the following 5 games:

Game 1: Super Smash Bros.

One of my personal favorite video games, Super Smash Brothers is an 8 player competitive tour de force that your child will enjoy. It boasts the most iconic characters, stages and items of Nintendo's expansive history. Moreover, it is easy for beginners to pick up and learn and boasts a deep level of mastery at advanced levels. Finally, it's one of the most popular games in competitive E-sports.

Game 2: Kirby

If your child appreciates cooperative multiplayer games, Kirby is the game for him/her. Become the hero Kirby and save Dreamland on this side scrolling adventure! Did you know Kirby is one of the few Nintendo characters having been around since the original NES generation? Wow.

Game 3: Raving Rabbids

Ready to get some movement? Raving Rabbids involves a 4 player multiplayer experience that enables your camper to play in 30 different mini-games. Best of all, your child will get up and jump around using the XBox Kinect sensor.

Game 4: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Arcade Game

I'm dating myself here, but I recall this game in the arcade! It's an awesome 4 player experience where you play as your favorite Ninja Turtle (Raphael is the best imho) to fight against the mean Shredder and Kang! Experience retro-style gameplay in this masterpiece.

Game 5: Mariokart 8

Last but not least is MarioKart 8! Race against your favorite characters from Super Mario Bros. and use fun items like bananas to slow fellow racers. Play cooperatively in 4 player multiplayer or against each other in fun challenges.

These are just 5 of the many games your child will enjoy this summer is Game On camp! moreover, your camper will explore the world of Tabletop Roleplaying. We’ll let our imaginations run free as we take on the role of heroes destined to save the universe from catastrophe.  You’ll learn to design your very own heroic character, customize your very own meeple miniature, and help craft the universe that our beloved heroes call home. Come stimulate your imagination  and get your Game On!
